I've decided to break down and share a carefully guarded secret with my readers -- what local auto mechanic I privately recommend to my friends and clients. 

I am certainly not in the habit of posting such information pubicly, but my mechanic has proven himself time and time again to have earned that honor.

For years I've been searching for a mechanic with honesty, integrity, knowledge, flexibility, who loves what he does, who can assuage my fears and can rise to occasion of any emergency and come to my family's aid -- even fix my old Rolls -- not an easy feat! A fair-minded person I can trust with my automobiles, who will advise me on purchases and trades -- I guess I'm really looking for a second spouse...

I found one in Tom, at Darryl's Automotive of Egg Harbor Township. This man is more than just a mechanic. He is also a teacher, a mench, a sage, a friend, a guru. You can literally feel the sense of curiosity spilling from his eyes as he checks under your hood.

And oh my gosh! Tom is so honest!  So is Darryl, the owner. That's why their client base is loyal and growing daily.  They working on practically anything. As a matter of fact, I've been in the shop when other well-known mechanics have called in to refer problems beyond their control. (Tom admitted this happened quite often!)

First class service with a smile, a fair price, what more could you ask for? Well Tom has another gift. He is also a brilliant diagnostician. He has had this uncanny ability to catch a problem before became a catastrophy. How many mechanics you know have that ability, or will take the time, or have the concern to check for potential problems.  Tom does. He has done so every time my cars have been in the shop.
