Question for Jeffybaby:  In a previous post you advised a reader to let her home's architecture speak for itself in her shore home by "exposing board walls and rafters to play up the family room's original charm and unique characteristics."

All well and good. But I have a New Construction. How can I do this, too? My new construction is definately lacking character and I don't know what to do.

Jeffybaby:  It's a bit more difficult in a New Construction, but consider installing beaded board or wooden planks in lieu of drywall. The quirks and imperfections of natural wood lend texture and interest, even if applied to only one wall or ceiling.

Rock on, New Construction Lady!
